Review: MOBO Awards '09

Wednesday 30th September saw the return of the Music of Black Origin Awards aka MOBOS. This year's ceremony was hosted from a new venue, the SECC in Glasgow and was hosted by Reggie Yates and Miss Keri Baby.
While there were many great performances from the likes of N-Dubz, Kelly Rowland, Flawless, Diverisity and Mr Hudson and of course the Michael Jackson tribute, what really got people talking, was the fact that some of the UK's heavyweights, especially Dizzee and Tinchy, didn't win anything. We at D&H were slightly suprised as well because we're all for the UK music scene and we support TALENTED artists and we believe that the two of them have definitely put the work in this year. Tinchy's work rate this year has been ridiculous & the album is definitely worthy of an award. Same with Dizzee. Congrats to all the winners though. We're really happy that the majority of winners were representing for the UK! Hopefully, next year MOBOs creators will put the spotlight on more TALENTED up-and-coming artists!

The winners were,

Best UK Act– in association with Lebara: N-Dubz

Best Newcomer: JLS

Best Song– in association with PRSforMusic : 'Beat Again', JLS
